College keeps me away from my horse :(
It has been quite a big deal for me to be away from Sy for this long! I moved into college about a month ago, so I'm now two hours away from my barn and my home. I have only been able to go see Sy once since I've been here, which is completely terrible! Luckily, I am at a fantastic barn now and I know that he is getting amazing care while I am away! I have a friend, an incredible rider, riding him a few times a week for me. She tells me that he is being so good for her, and that she loves riding him, so I am at least content that he is happy and well cared for- even if not by me. I am going home again next weekend, and I am so very excited to ride him for the first time in over a month! I absolutely can't wait.. it should be the highlight of my weekend! :)

Hectic, crazy life!
It has been forever since I last wrote anything, as life has been so crazy! So many things have happened since my last post, and it may take a while to update you on everything! Since then, I have graduated college, moved barns, started taking regular lessons again, and started college. Unfortunately, I am in college three hours away from home.. meaning three hours away from Sy and my barn. I spent about four months riding at my new barn before I left for school, and I absolutely love it there! The people are so welcoming to me, and Sy's care is top notch, just what I have been searching for forever! I am much more comfortable being so far away from him knowing that he is getting amazing care! Another rider at my barn is exercising Sy for me while I am gone, and I know he is in great hands, as she is a fantastic rider! She has told me several times that he is doing very well for her, and that she spoils him rotten! I am so glad that he has someone to love on him when I'm not able to! I am beyond happy with my new stable, and I can't wait until I can make it back to be with him again! I am hoping to go home one or two times a month, so I should still be able to see him every once in a while. Sy is now on a much more stable(no pun intended!) exercise routine with his new rider, which will be so good for him and for his health. I am really excited to see how this changes him, as he has needed more frequent exercise for a while, I just have been incapable of providing it while I'm in school. I have been told that I should be coming home to a completely new horse! He should be getting back into shape, and I'm hoping to retry shows with him next spring and summer, as I haven't shown him since my very first summer with him! So I foresee some exciting new things in the future for Sy and me! I definitely hope to keep this blog up to date with how things are going, but my track record isn't so great thus far! Until next time! :)

Sooo long
Crazy! I haven't posted in so long! I am now 17, and I wrote my last post I was 15! Unfortunately, I haven't shown at all in the past few years, and have ridden very little. So far this summer I've really been trying to get Sy back into shape with conditioning and stretching exercises, and I'm planning on re-starting him over fences before school starts. I'm also planning on taking him to a show in late August to at least show him on the flat, possibly over some small jumps. It will only be a local schooling show, so it really won't matter if we do terribly. ;) Anyway, that's pretty much all that's been going on here, boring I know! I've been working a lot to help my mom out with horse costs, so I really don't have a ton of time unfortunately! Soon, hopefully!

Summer?
We are in one of the last few weeks of May, and my birthday is Friday! I'll be 16! I can't help but feel that I'm running out of time as a junior rider... so I'll just have to make the next couple of years really count! It is FINALLY warmer outside, and I'm trying to make it out to the barn more, without much luck. I recently got a job, and I've been doing a lot of school work lately! So I'm not exactly having the easiest time making time for Sy. We have about 3 weeks of school left, so I'm really hoping it will be easier after that! When I do make it out to the barn however, I notice how amazing Sy is starting to look. He's shedding out the last bits of his winter coat, and he is looking fantastic with all of the weight he's gained! He will especially look great after he's gained some more of his muscle back. I'm so excited to see how he turns out once we start showing! I'm really hoping to get some new software for my birthday so I'm able to edit video, then I'll be able to put some video of him up! :) I'll post more when I get to work with him more!

Is it spring yet??
March is finally here, and it started out beautifully! It was actually almost 40 degrees! I hope it stays this nice all week, because I need to get some serious riding in! I haven't ridden Sy in 2 weeks! If it manages to stay this nice though, I am going to start jumping him more! It's about time we started getting ready for shows! Also, as soon as I start riding him more often, and get him back into shape, I am going to set up some videos! I can't wait for everyone to see how he's coming along!

Lessons
So, I'm really thinking I need lessons again! Since I moved Sy to a new barn three months ago, I haven't taken any lessons! I really need to work on some things with a trainer so Sy and I can be totally prepared for this show season! My goal is to have him ready to show on the A circuit by September, because I want to show him in pre-greens at Maffitt Lake EC the end of that month. So hopefully we'll be ready by then! We'll see what happens I suppose! Also, as we head into March and April, it will hopefully warm up some! I am so sick of this cold and snowy weather! Once it warms up and I'm out at the barn more often, I'm planning on getting some videos of Sy and I made, that will eventually go on YouTube. I'll let you guys know when that is going to happen though!
